The Beat of the Baltics. - Multi activity Trip

1 ½ weeks: UK to UK (ta 2)

The days of invasion and repression for the Baltic countries are now over, leaving a veritable wealth of treasures to explore and people bursting to express themselves. The Baltic capitals alone have some of the most atmospheric streets and spectacular sights in all Eastern Europe - and history to match.

Kicking off in Vilnius we travel up through the Lithuanian countryside into Latvia, and up to Riga - the capital. We travel via the town of Baukas and the magnificient Rundale Palace. From Riga it's into the heart of Estonia and north to the medieval capital of Tallinn. Then we follow the Narva Highway across the border into Russia and on to the 'Venice of the North', St Petersburg.

A mixture of camping in the regions fabulous national parks, and hotel accommodation when staying in town.
